Senses as a starting point - workshop

Hey followers and friends! .

U:1 are working on a variety of workshops that we wish to take into the community!

This week Steph hosted a fun and interesting workshop which produced some interesting results.

We began by guessing the contents of some cups using our sense of smell, and we wrote down what we thought was inside the cups.
Then using those answers we picked a few words and used them as a starting point to create very quick sculptures out of newspapers. There were words such as curry, boot polish, nail varnish remover, coffee.

There were some very intriguing shapes emerging and the final masterpieces can be seen here.

And after we had made the newspaper sculptures we used them to create very hilarious stories! It was a great laugh so thanks to Steph for running it.

Next week we have a very exciting workshop idea! We are going to use digital cameras and camera phones and give eachother 'photographic' instructions and in teams we will adventure into the streets of plymouth and try to complete those photographic challenges. Should be very interesting indeed!
Thanks for reading!
